Set a direction to go there, let them see it.
Put out a set of principles by which you abide.
Define the checkpoints at which something is worth celebrating.
And let them do their things.
Do not give instructions.
Do not ask anyone to follow a laid-out plan.
Do not challenge every decision.
This is an easy recipe for success. Loosely coupled, independent teams are brought together by a set of shared values, acting with autonomy. They’ll be doing what’s needed. The hard part is finding the right talent who shares the same enthusiasm as you, believing in the same future as you while possessing the necessary skillset that your maturity level demands.
